Services

Includes: Thorough wash, paint decontamination, premium wax, and interior cleaning

Price: from $300 to $350

Time: about 6-7 hours

More info: Initially, starting the detail with washing the car will remove the dirt and most noticeable surface contaminants. A second decontamination stage will remove more contaminants embedded in the paint. After cleaning off all contaminants, a coat of wax will be applied to protect the paint from UV damage, tree sap, and bird droppings and add a beautiful shine to the paint. The exterior plastic trim will also be coated with a UV protectant, including the tires. Interior cleaning includes vacuuming the carpet, mats, and seats, as well as cleaning the door panels, dash, steering wheel, center console, windows, and door jambs with the goal of making the interior look like new.

Includes: Thorough wash, paint decontamination, minor paint correction, premium wax, and interior cleaning

Price: from $600 to $650

Time: about two days depending on the size of the car

More info: The process begins with washing the car thoroughly to remove as much dirt as possible in cracks and crevices. After the noticeable dirt is removed, the paint decontamination step includes iron remover and clay barring to remove nearly all of the surface contaminants on the paint to prepare for polishing/paint correction. This is an in-depth washing process because if contaminants are not removed, it will affect the polishing process. Polishing the car is a lengthy process but makes a much more significant difference in the paint. Polishing the paint removes oxidation (caused by the vehicle not being waxed and in the sunlight most of the time), swirls (caused by improper wash methods, drive-through car washes, and more), and minor scratches. After polishing, the paint will be waxed to maintain the finish, protect it from UV damage, tree sap, and bird droppings, and add more shine to the paint. The plastic trim and tires will also be coated with a UV protectant. Interior cleaning includes vacuuming the carpet, mats, and seats, as well as cleaning the door panels, dash, steering wheel, center console, and door jambs with the goal to make the interior look like new. The leather is also conditioned, and plastics are coated with a UV protectant.

Includes: Thorough wash, paint decontamination, major paint correction, premium wax, and interior cleaning

Price: from $700 to $750

Time: about two to three days depending on the size of the car

More info: This package begins with thoroughly washing the car to remove as much dirt as possible, including the undercarriage. The paint decontamination step includes iron remover and clay barring to remove nearly all of the surface contaminants on the paint to prepare for polishing/paint correction. This is a very in-depth washing process because if contaminants are not removed, it will affect the paint correction process. This process takes longer than polishing because it includes two stages. The first stage of the correction consists of a heavy cut in the clear coat to get out the deeper scratches (aka buffing). This will remove every scratch except ones that would require wet sanding; therefore, about 90-95% of scratches. After the heavy cut, the paint is refined or smoothed out by polishing to correct the micro-scratches caused by the heavy cut. This creates a perfect finish, with nearly 95% of paint imperfections and scratches removed. The paint is then protected with a premium wax to maintain the finish, protect it from UV damage, tree sap, and bird droppings, and add more shine to the paint. I also recommend bringing touch-up paint for your car to further the perfection of your paint with this package. Then the exterior plastic trim will also be coated with a UV protectant, including the tires. Interior cleaning includes vacuuming the carpet, mats, and seats, as well as cleaning the door panels, dash, steering wheel, center console, and door jambs with the goal of making the interior look like new. The leather is also conditioned, and plastics are coated with a UV protectant.

More info: Ceramic coatings are the latest invention to paint protection and shine. A ceramic coating could be considered a longer lasting wax, but with more protection and other benefits. The ceramic coating has the chemical resistance from pH 2 to 12 and some scratch resistance, making the paint much more durable. The ceramic coating also makes water droplets fall right off the paint making it easier to keep the car clean and free of water spots. The compound in ceramic coating is silicone dioxide, which is a clear, shiny, crystal compared to a dull carnauba wax, which therefore gives the paint much more depth and shine. Lastly, the ceramic coating also has some static resistance which makes less dust and dirt stick to the paint as you drive it.

The process to apply a ceramic coating requires the paint to be a clean slate and completely contaminant-free, requiring at least my Package 2 for the coating. The ceramic coating I use is meant to last 1 to 3 years. Because of this, I would recommend getting my Package 3 to make the paint nearly perfect underneath the coating. Only polishing (Package 2) the paint and coating it after will still have the benefits of the ceramic, but you will still have scratches underneath the coating. After a ceramic coating has been applied it is required to not wash the car for one week after the coating and you cannot drive the car in snow or rain for 24 hours to let the coating cure properly.

There is a lot of false claims of ceramic coatings and how long they last and the protection they provide by other detail shops. No, the coating will not last 10 years or prevent rock chips. A ceramic coating can last longer if you do not use drive through brush car washes, maintain the ceramic coating by washing it with pH neutral soap, and if the car is garage kept, but this can still max out at around 3 years. If you want to remove a ceramic coating or fix scratches, the car would need to be polished again.

More info: Carpet shampooing removes as many stains from your carpet or fabric seats as possible. I use a professional extractor and cleaning products to extract the stain from the carpet. Majority of the stains will come out, but there is still a chance that some will not. I will make multiple passes over stains to get them out as much as I can. If the stain does not come out by extracting, it will not come out. Prices vary depending on size of the car and condition of the carpet and fabric seats.
